We Didn't Start The Fire

Yesterday October 3, 2010 while sitting at the Pub watching Football people in the bar started talking about the Forrest Fire outside. We all looked outside to the West and there was a HUGE cloud of smoke... Crazy.

Calls kept coming in from people saying that they could see the flames. All of a sudden the bomber planes with retardant were flying in. It was so awesome to sit outside and watch the planes, the smoke and the people freak out.
The fire is in an unpopulated area with no homes or structures nearby. This is actually a really good thing for my county as the Pine Bark Beetle has killed 95% of all the trees up here.

The side of the mountain where its burning

Made for a killer sunset

The airplanes were AWESOME

As of right now about 550 acres have burned. I can't wait to see how this all plays out. Our landscape will be more beautiful than before. The firefighters and pilots are doing an amazing job! Its very smoky and smells like a campfire, but all is well. We just have to remember that there are no homes in sight. Just the animals will have to find a new place to live. As this area is one of the most populated hunting areas around. Burn Baby Burn!!!
